It is a common perception that wireless networks can be difficult to deploy if you do not have an extensive IT background. Let’s take a look at the complexity of configuring a wireless network.

In traditional systems, you have to configure each device individually. This means:

1. Specify the operating mode on the radio.
2. Choose the RF type. (i.e. – 802.11a/b/g/n + the frequency band).
3. Choose the channel width.
4. Choose the channel itself. This is the most difficult setting to choose because you need to do a spectrum analysis before making your decision in order to ensure a reliable system.
5. Choose the SSID (case sensitive).
6. Choose the encryption (password is case sensitive).

Now you have to configure the client.

1. Choose RF type again.
2. Choose SSID again (case sensitive).
3. Choose Encryption again (password is case sensitive).

Remember that you can to configure all APs and clients this way. The result is that user-error is commonplace, and configuring a wireless network can lead to quite an endeavor.

Clients Self-Link—When clients have AeroMag enabled, they will securely connect to the APs and extract the configuration settings. If you ever change the channel, the client will automatically also change. Additionally, you can go to any AP and lock the system down so no other devices can be added to the network.
