Realize the Potential of Flexible Energy with Intelligent Energy Management

As the world transitions from fossil energy to distributed renewable sources, new challenges such as grid congestion or curtailment can occur. Scalable communication and smart energy management systems (EMS) are about to become the key solution approach. In this webinar, we’ll speak about:

  • Highlight findings from a publicly funded research project called BASE.V*, which was recently completed by a research consortium from Moxa, the Technical University of Munich (TUM), monitoring solution expert Paessler AG, local distribution system operator bayernwerk, and PV system and solution provider sonnen eServices.
  • Share how a scalable IIoT platform, based on industrial devices and edge software infrastructure, was used to link PV generation systems to stationary and mobile battery storage. Stefan Englberger, Ph.D. from TUM, will share the challenges, options, and implemented solutions for a decentralized EMS, which became the core of the local energy trading system demonstrated in the project.
  • Explain the journey of future energy users, which starts from simple consumer to prosumer, ending with an energy trading flexumer.

Join our webinar on Thursday, July 7th, from 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM CEST, and see for yourself how a decentralized EMS can help to optimize the distribution and use of energy in volatile environments across many sectors. Simply fill out the form on the right to register and even if you cannot make the date and time, we will send you a copy of the recording after.

In the next webinar on July 21st, we’ll share how blockchain technology was used in the same project to establish the local energy trading system.

*The research project BASE.V is funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy as part of the BayVFP Förderlinie Digitalisierung program (grant number DIK-1908-0008), supported by Bayern Innovativ - Bayerische Gesellschaft für Innovation und Wissenstransfer mbH and supported by the project management organization VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH.
